08/05/2010 - Ashburn, VA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is expected to undergo an MRI on his ailing knee.
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan indicated Haynesworth will have the test on Thursday to determine the extent of the injury, which has caused him to sit out each practice in training camp thus far.
Haynesworth has yet to participate because he has been unable to pass the team's conditioning test, which requires him to complete a series of running drills in an allotted amount of time. He failed the test on Thursday and Friday of last week, then skipped it on Saturday and Sunday because of knee soreness.
On Monday, Haynesworth began the drill but was unable to finish because of the knee issue and has sat out completely since.
Haynesworth, who logged four sacks in 12 games in his first year in Washington last season, must pass the conditioning test because he did not attend the majority of the team's voluntary offseason programs and skipped the mandatory minicamp in June, due to an objection to his role in the team's new defensive scheme.
